I'm not lost or inactive -- just work and bright shiny objects ...

East Bay Commute -

I bike to BART most days and then from the train to work. I can extend it, but generally it's about 12 miles a day.

Regardless the time of day the cars each have one or two homeless inside. They can sleep, stay warm and reasonably safe. Some smell. Some make noise. Most stay to themselves. It's easy to get through turnstiles without paying -- At night, at Fruitvale, it seems maybe one out of three people bother to check out. A joke.

Anyway, I have realized that this is one of the ways the region manages it's homeless. Don't bother, don't ask, don't tell.

Trouble is -- it's a really shitty way to do it and it keeps a lot of people off the commuter trains.
